Morning Pages

I don't remember where I heard of Julia Cameron's Morning Pages but I do recall the need I had to write when I started those. I think I heard about her somewhere in a podcast.

At first, like now with any new challenge, I had such a hard time to commit to write long hand 3 pages everyday. I would skip or forget many mornings in a row, the write my Morning Pages, for a week, or two, then forget again.

I then challenged myself to repeat the exercise for 5 day. Later, I was happy with myself so, I doubled it to 10 days, and so on, until I hit 100 days. I figured if I can do it for 100 days (about 3-4 months), it meant I could do it for a long time. This happenned 8 years ago.

Recently, I added meditation for 20 minutes, to my mornings but, Morning Pages went down the drain at that time of the day. Meditation seems to have replaced writing.  So, my next endeavour will consist in replacing  internet surfing when I wake up by meditation, then write.

Let's write our Morning Pages for 5 days, then double. We will see.

Any habit can be added with small steps. I just want to stay away from my internet when I wake up tomorrow morning, so I can meditate then write.
